Bio

Andy Bialk is a 2-time Emmy Award winner, 4-time Annie Award-Nominated Artist with 25+ years in the Animation Industry. His influential designs can be seen in some of the most memorable TV and Feature Films, including the 2019 Academy Award winner Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Under The Boardwalk, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The LEGO Movie 1 & 2, The Emoji Movie, The SpongeBob Movie, The Book Of Life, Madagascar 2, How To Train Your Dragon, Shrek 4, and Megamind. In Television, the Mickey Mouse shorts, Shimmer & Shine, Dragons: Riders of Berk, The Ricky Gervais cartoon, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratory among others. He has given lectures at Art Center College of Design, DreamWorks Feature Animation, Concept Design Academy and Loyola Marymount University where he earned a BA in Studio Arts. After "Spider-Verse", Andy acted as Creative Director at Illumination Ent. focusing his talents in their Theme Parks Division on the new Secret Life of Pets "Off The Leash!" ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. Soon after, he joined Paramount Animation on their first Animated Musical, “Under The Boardwalk” as Character Art Director and then stepped in as Art Director at Wild Canary Animation on their Animation Test & Storybook for Lucasfilm & Disney Jr’s new preschool series “Young Jedi Adventures” also helping with Character Designs on s1. Andy is currently in Development with ShadowMachine/Mattel Films on the “Bob The Builder” project as well as in development with Nick Jr for an upcoming confidential preschool series. In the Fall 2023 Semester, he finished teaching 2 Character Design classes at the California Institute of the Arts as well as participant for BFA4 Graduation Reviews. Andy recently moved to Portland, OR and loves skateboarding, cycling, and taking walks with his wife and 2 daughters, and playing with their 2 dogs & 2 cats.
