Bio
Ashley Nixon is an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. She teaches courses in leadership, management, human resources, and organizational behavior. She is a Fulbright Scholar Specialist and an awarding winning professor.
Ashley’s primary research interest falls under the umbrella of occupational stress, including job stressors, employee strains and well-being, and moderators of the stressor-strain process. Her research has appeared in International Journal of Management Reviews, Work & Stress, Human Performance, and Stress & Health as well as numerous conference proceedings including the Academy of Management, Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists and Work, Stress, and Health. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety. Ashley serves on the editorial boards of Work & Stress and Occupational Health Science. She is an executive board member for the Society of Occupational Health Psychology and Salem SHRM Association.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys traveling with her partner in a Eurovan, stand-up paddle boarding, and sending time with her adorable dogs. She loves to travel locally and internationally, read everything that strikes her fancy, and enjoy a glass of Oregon Pinot Noir.
