Bio

Beth Anderson (she/they) is a Professional Counselor Associate and holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health.

Beth’s theoretical orientation is integrative, she utilizes behaviorally focused models (dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapy) to build awareness and collaboratively work with students to develop strategies to help students meet their therapeutic goals. Beth is also aware that emotions can sometimes be challenging to connect with and name, to address this, she also utilizes a somatic approach.  At her core, Beth is a person-centered clinician, acknowledging that everyone brings their own experiences into the therapeutic room shaped by their identities and how they intersect with the world around them. She also has training in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is most often used to address traumatic stress.

Beth has experience working with college students and with youth in a community mental health setting. Her areas of particular interest are trauma, neurodivergence, and connecting with what students are most interested in to promote more sustainable changes. Outside the therapy realm, Beth enjoys doing some variation of skating and/or being creative.
