Bio

David leads technical direction, stage management, recording and post production for all Music Department performances, and assists in maintaining the technology lab and recording studios in Ford Hall. To support these responsibilities, David trains and supervises a staff of student employees. Academically, David teaches music technology, live sound reinforcement, and electroacoustic ensemble courses for the Music department.
As a professional artist, David is composer, saxophonist, and sound artist who loves to travel the landscape of improvisation and fixed forms, using timbre and texture to guide the journey. Embracing a variety of creative fields, David enjoys collaborating with choreographers, poets, visual artists, and (of course) musicians, to contribute to the larger community of creative expression.
His  artistic and collaborative work includes organizations and festivals such as: Creative Music Guild, Soundbox Intermedia Festival, Splice Festival, Hyperlocal MKE, Danceworks Inc., Wild Space Dance Company, Noise Knowledge Consortium, Sensoria, Unruly Music, Present Music, and FringeFest.
David received a Masters of Music in Theory & Composition and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Composition & Technology from the Peck School of the Arts (PSOA) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
