Bio

Mike Chasar’s research and teaching areas include American literature, cultural studies, popular culture and popular music, modernism, media studies, Shakespeare, and creative writing, with a particular focus on poetry in public life and popular culture. A former National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, he is the author or editor of four books, most recently The Poetry of Bob Dylan: 30 Essays on 30 Songs, and has written articles and book chapters for PMLA, American Literature, JCMS: Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, The Cambridge Companion to the Poem, A History of Twentieth-Century American Women’s Poetry, and The Oxford Handbook of Modern and Contemporary American Poetry.
