Bio
Much of Dr. Dewey-Thorsett's research has centered around studies of radio pulsars and the information they provide about neutron stars and the end stages of stellar evolution (for example the observable motion of radio pulsars in the Galaxy can be used to explore the characteristics of the supernova explosions in which they are created). Her work involves a variety of radio astronomy techniques including Very Long Baseline interferometry. In recent years she has become increasingly interested in science education at the secondary and post-secondary level as well as broader education policy questions.
