Bio

Teri Wallis is an experienced finance and accounting executive and professional, with extensive experience in the utility industry. Her background brings depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in the areas of finance and accounting, financial forecasting and budgeting, strategy and execution, and the development of leaders. With 28 years of practical, real-life experience, she is known for building trusted and respected relationships and making sound business decisions. She has 17 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in utility organizations and another 5 years as a national level Regional Vice President of utility financing.  

Since 2018, she is the founder and owner of Terilyn Wallis Consulting, where she develops and delivers educational programs to industry associations and individual utilities, and provides consulting services and custom developed programs to utilities. Teri has an instructor at Willamette University in the Utility Management Certificate Program since 2020 taking on various role in the program including finance and accounting topics, strategy and execution, and the application of program experiences such as the final project and rate hearings/presentations. 

Teri was born and raised in western Wisconsin and returned to that area to raise her family, with their two children now raised. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy breeding and raising labrador retrievers that have a high drive to hunt and compete. They spend the warmer months training their crew of seven labs on land and in water for hunt tests and to be ready for fall bird hunting season.  She and her husband Mike have two grown children they enjoy spending time with as well.

 When it comes to the classroom, Teri is committed to the development and success of her students, connecting knowledge and skills to practical applications.
