Advising Guide to the ENVS Major
As an Environmental Science major, you will focus on core courses during your first two years. During your junior and senior years, you will take five electives in both the natural and social sciences aspects of one of the following concentrations: climate change, environmental health, environmental geosciences, natural resources management, or nature, society and sustainability. Please contact any ENVS faculty member for more information on what courses you might take if you are considering majoring in ENVS.
Complete during your First and Second Years

- ENVS 121 Earth Systems and the Environment
- ENVS 220 Sophomore Seminar
- ENVS 250 Geographic Information Systems
Complete during your Third Year
- 3 or 4 of your 5 electives
Complete during your Fourth Year
- Last 1 to 2 electives
- ENVS 495 Senior Capstone
