Supervisor Training for Student Managers - In addition to training for those who manage staff, training is also offered to those who solely managed students. The content contains many of the elements within the general supervisor training, but focuses on the student experience, and differentiates in areas that are unique, such as the process of hiring students that differs from hiring staff. The assignment of managing students is more dynamic than being designated to manage staff, so be sure to reach out to us if you start managing students and haven't heard from us.
Campus Safety Authorities (CSAs) are responsible for reporting certain crimes to Campus Safety as a requirement of the Clery Act. As part of our commitment to promoting a safe and secure campus environment, it is essential that all individuals serving as CSAs complete the necessary training to fulfill their roles effectively. The training provided is designed to provide CSAs with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.
Clery Act regulations defines the role of CSA as:
- An institution’s campus police or security department
- Other people with security responsibilities, like those monitoring access to campus property (such as parking lots, residence halls, and athletic venues)
- People or organizations designated in an institution’s security policy as those to whom students and employees should report crimes
- Officials with significant responsibility for student and campus activities, such as student housing, student discipline, and campus judicial proceedings. Those managing student clubs are also included in this category
