Commencement Ceremony Policies and Procedures

Participation in the Commencement Ceremony is outlined in the Atkinson Graduate School of Management Student Handbook. Questions about eligibility to participate in the Commencement Ceremony should be directed to the Atkinson School Recorder, Karen Arthur.

Graduation Announcements

Each graduate will be provided six standard commencement ceremony announcements, which will be mailed to the address provided in your Graduation Application. To order personalized graduation announcement products, visit Jostens online, click on "Shop grad essentials" under the Graduation Products heading or call 1-800-488-2173.

Commencement Ceremony

Tickets are not required for entry to the Commencement Ceremony, but we will be collecting tickets for the Brunch. If you do NOT plan to participate in commencement activities, please email mba-commencement@willamette.edu at your earliest opportunity.

Commencement Brunch

Each graduate and up to six guests are invited to attend the Commencement Brunch immediately following the ceremony. Please RSVP with expected guest count no later than Thursday, December 19, 2024. If you have any questions regarding brunch tickets or the MBA-P graduation ceremony, please email mba-commencement@willamette.edu.

Graduation Cap, Gown, Hood and Tassel

Regalia will be available for pick-up during check-in on the 3rd floor of Putnam University Center.

Academic Honors at Graduation

  • Students who have completed all MBA degree requirements will be considered for academic honors at commencement. See the Student Handbook for more information.
    The following Honors will be awarded:
    • Graduating Student with the Highest GPA 
    • Atkinson Honors
    • Beta Gamma Sigma

Commencement Photos

A photographer will take group and individual photos. Photos will be available to view and order online shortly after Commencement.

Accommodations for Graduates/Guests with Disabilities

If you or your guests have questions or require disability accommodations, please email mba-commencement@willamette.edu by December 19, 2024. Upon request, Willamette University will provide sign language interpreters or other accommodations for disabilities, provided the request is made at least one month before the ceremony.

Parking

Parking for the Ceremony and Brunch will be available in the Sparks Field and Sparks Athletic Center parking lot on the south side of campus (Bellevue Street).
