Student Organizations

The groups and officers listed below are updated for the 2026-2027 academic year. The next election cycle for open positions is in Fall 2026 - open positions will be available to both first and second-year MBA students. If you are interested in starting a new student organization, contact Dave Sundby at dhsundby@willamette.edu.

Atkinson Student Association Board (ASA) - Governing Body

ASA is the “umbrella” body that monitors and facilitates the activities of all organizations within the Atkinson Graduate School of Management. ASA’s mission is “to provide opportunities for the members of the Atkinson community to develop connections and build a network of people working in any business field, alumni and students.” It is our goal to see you grow. This year, ASA intends to provide networking opportunities for students to develop connections with future professionals (aka you and your peers.)  ASA also seats a student representative on the Willamette University Board of Trustees and the University Council, so the voice of our students is represented in the University’s strategic plan.

This semester, we hope to focus our efforts on building interest and knowledge in the field of consulting, and then, in the spring, we will host events to better position our students for applying, interviewing, and receiving opportunities in the consulting industry! Additionally, if you wish to further position yourself for a career in consulting, we strongly encourage you to run as a first-year representative for ACA as it will bolster your professional network, and you’ll help guide our activities to be successful across both cohorts!

Business and Law Encompassing Network (BALEN)

In the Business And Law Encompassing Network we strive to highlight the intersection in business and law. Based around the JD/MBA, but open to all, the goal of this organization is to further each member's knowledge of the common problems in business, law, & decisions they may make as a part of, or owner, of a business. BALEN is NOT the  business law club. We plan to be the networking line drawn in between the real life application of Business & the real life constraints of Law.  We will provide and determine the structures, differences, and how to implement them to your advantage relating to business through the perspective of law.

SAA was founded by a group of current and former student-athletes whose experiences and career interests helped them recognize an opportunity within the AGSM community.
