Award Renewal and Satisfactory Academic Progress

Scholarship Renewal

Renewal of any scholarship received at the time of admission is based solely on the criteria listed on the admission letter. If you have any questions about those criteria, you can contact the Dean’s Office for the school you are attending.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

In order to receive federal financial aid, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress within your program. The graduate school you attend will monitor your status and notify you of any issues directly.

There is a time limit to the amount of time you can take to complete your degree. Examples of this are below. Please keep in mind that if it ever becomes mathematically impossible to complete your degree within the time limit, you will stop being eligible for federal financial aid immediately.

Students will receive notification of their merit scholarship eligibility at the same time they are notified of their admission status.

STEP 2: To be considered for federal student loans, all students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after October 1st.

STEP 3: Students will receive their financial aid award information via email in early March, or 2-4 weeks after you’ve been admitted and filed the FAFSA.

STEP 4: Accept or Decline your awards online. Here’s how.

STEP 5: Complete all other required paperwork. The Office of Financial Aid will notify you via email of any additional processes or paperwork required for you to receive the aid that you have been offered.
