Concentrations
BA/MBA students use MBA electives to build expertise in these concentrations:
The page shows the typical curricular path for BA/MBA students who begin the MBA program needing two CAS courses during the first year of the MBA.
BA/MBA students needing two CAS courses will generally complete one CAS course during fall semester of the first year of MBA study, and one CAS course during spring semester of the first year of the MBA program.
1st Year - Fall Semester - 12 MBA credits and 1 CAS course
The student will take one CAS course and postpone the MBA course "Managing Individuals, Teams and Organizations" to fall semester of the second year of MBA study.
1st Year - Spring Semester - 12 MBA credits and 1 CAS course
The student will take one CAS course and postpone an MBA elective course to the second year of MBA study.
Summer Between 1st and 2nd Year - 3 MBA credits
2nd Year - Fall Semester - 18 MBA credits
2nd Year - Spring Semester - 15 MBA credits
Note: Postponing two MBA courses to the second year of the MBA program means the student will be taking one semester of 18 credits and one semester of 15 credits during the second year of the MBA. An 18 credit load during one semester of the second year of the MBA program is doable. In fact, second-year MBA students often choose to take 18 credit loads during the second year of the MBA program because there are so many courses they want like to take.
