The Willamette Chamber Choir is a highly select, 40-voice mixed vocal ensemble that performs a wide range of choral literature drawn from all historical periods and a variety of styles. Throughout its history, the Chamber Choir has toured and performed at local and national festivals, workshops, and conventions, regularly serving as ambassadors for the university. In 2024, the ensemble traveled on a performance tour to Seattle, WA.

Willamette University De grandes cuillers de neige. Featuring Francis Poulenc's "De grandes cuillers de neige," directed by Dr. Anna Song, performed at Union H.S. on the Chamber Choir's 2024 Seattle Tour.

Tour Information

  • From March 25-30, 2026, the Willamette University Chamber Choir will travel to Boise, ID, with a stop in Bend, OR on a choir tour to share music with others. Led by Director of Choral Music Dr. Anna Song, the choir will exchange with local high schools to raise WU's visibility, connect with Willamette alums (including Jeff Baker '01), engage with the larger community and bring live performances to those with less access.

The tour concert program will draw from a variety of styles and time periods, featuring compositions by Meredith Monk, Samuel Barber, David Lang, Amy Beach, Orlando Gibbons, Anton Bruckner, and others, as well as American folk songs and spirituals. Members of the community are welcome to join the Chamber Choir along their tour. Most performances are free and open to the public, except for those with an asterisk (*), which is a ticketed event. The program also included Jake Runestad's "A Silence Haunts Me" for piano and chorus—an impassioned work that explores heartbreak, loss, and resilience of the human spirit, inspired by Beethoven's words and music. Featured on piano was recent WU music alumna, Trinity Goff '24.
