About the Plays

THE GLASS DOOR
BY: STEPHEN EVANS

Directed By: Susan Coromel

February 12 — March 1, 2026

The Glass Door reimagines Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler for a new audience, exploring the ambitions and struggles of a woman trapped in a society that denies her agency. As she seeks control in a world that resists her, she becomes entangled in a web of intrigue, seduction, and destruction.

ROOM OF FORGOTTEN SOULS
A DEVISED WORK

Directed By: Jonathan Cole

April 16  April 25, 2026

Inspired by the haunting discovery of thousands of unclaimed remains at the Oregon State Hospital, this work will explore themes of memory, loss, and recognition. Created by the ensemble, Room of Forgotten Souls will investigate society's relationship with mental illness and the hospital's attempts to make uniform the canisters that stored the ashes. Due to water damage, the canisters began to change in unique ways, as if the people were fighting to be recognized as individuals.

Room of Forgotten Souls is a devised piece which is actively being created over the Fall and Spring semesters. Due to the experimental and collaborative nature of this production process, there is not yet a script or clearly defined intimacy/fight requirements. This is described in more detail in the disclosure.

Again, please fill out forms.

All Majors, Minors and Scholarship holders must fill out the Tech Position form, regardless of emphasis. This means Theatre students auditioning for the play will need to fill out both forms.
