Natalie is thrilled to return for her fourth year as The Collegian's journalism consultant. A Bearcat herself, Natalie graduated from Willamette in 2015, double majoring in Politics and French/Francophone Studies. Natalie has worked as a professional journalist in Oregon for more than a decade, working on staff at The Statesman Journal, KLCC and Oregon Public Broadcasting. She has published stories with outlets including Oregon Capital Chronicle, Portland Monthly, The Hechinger Report, USA TODAY and NPR.
Natalie is also a published author and the former host and producer of the 2023 limited-series podcast "On the Outside,” which shares the stories of youth with incarcerated parents. She is a former fellow and mentor for Investigative Reporters & Editors, a member of the Education Writers Association, a mentor/editor for the Oregon High School Journalism Institute, and a volunteer editor for the Prison Journalism Project.
Natalie loves spending her free time with her husband and their dog, Bandit. You'll often find her dancing, singing, traveling, soaking up the sun, guzzling coffee or with her nose in a good book.
