Willamette Law Review

The Willamette Law Review is a premier legal journal that publishes four issues annually. It features articles from external authors, as well as notes and comments from third- and second-year students. The journal is a valuable resource for practitioners, judges, legislators, and academics, addressing cutting-edge legal issues. For students, working on the Willamette Law Review hones their legal writing and research skills, providing them with the discipline and analytical expertise that are crucial for their future legal careers.

Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution

The Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution focuses on a specific theme in each annual issue, exploring topics that span global legal developments and international dispute resolution. Past themes have included international investment trends, European security, and the impact of e-commerce on international law. This journal offers students the opportunity to delve into complex international legal issues and contribute to discussions that have global implications.

Willamette Law Online

Willamette Law Online is a unique resource providing timely case summaries from various U.S. courts, including the Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Oregon's appellate courts. Students involved in Willamette Law Online gain experience in legal analysis and writing while keeping the legal community informed of significant judicial decisions. This journal is particularly valuable for students interested in appellate law and legal reporting.

Willamette Journal of Social Justice and Equity

The Willamette Journal of Social Justice and Equity tackles legal and policy issues related to social justice and equity. This student-edited journal aims to contribute to the understanding of race, gender, and other equity-related matters, providing a platform for scholars and practitioners to explore these critical issues. Participation in this journal enables students to engage deeply with social justice issues, fostering a commitment to advocacy and reform. SEJ's first edition was published in the spring of 2017.

Archived Journals

Willamette Environmental Law Journal (Archived)

The Willamette Environmental Law Journal (WELJ) focused on critical issues in environmental law and sustainability. As a student-run and edited publication, WELJ provided a platform for students to delve into pressing topics like climate change policy, conservation, and sustainable development. By contributing to WELJ, students positioned themselves as leaders in environmental legal scholarship and advocacy. Launched in the summer of 2012, WELJ published its final edition in 2018. 

Willamette Sports Law Journal (Archived)

Though no longer active, the Willamette Sports Law Journal was once a pioneering publication dedicated to the intersection of sports and law. Topics included Title IX, torts in sports, and labor law issues, offering students a chance to explore the legal dimensions of the sports industry. While the journal ceased publication in 2016, its legacy lives on as a testament to Willamette's innovative spirit in legal education.
