Residence Life and Housing

Summer Housing

Summer Housing information

Summer housing is available on our Portland and Salem campuses to current, enrolled students. The summer housing contract runs from May 18, 2026, through July 31, 2026. Residents in current ArtHouse or Kaneko B & C Wings (apartment units only) can transition from spring semester to summer housing without moving to a different space. Additionally, if you are a resident of a Kaneko Commons apartment for Fall 2026, and apply for summer housing, you will be able to move in in May, and stay in the same unit; not needing to change rooms when the academic year begins. Rates are for the duration of the contract, and will not be prorated.

Placement

ArtHouse in Portland and Kaneko Commons Apartments in Salem are the only residence halls open for summer contracts. No other buildings will be available for summer student housing.

In an effort to minimize moving and room turnovers, preferential placement is given to students needing summer housing if their fall housing assignment is in ArtHouse and University Apartments, thus enabling them to move into what will be their fall housing assignment in May. FAQ

Am I able to move into my fall housing assignment for summer?

If your fall housing assignment is being used for summer housing then you will have preferential placement there. If the building you are assigned to in the fall it is not being used for summer, we will move you into a summer housing space. You will be able to move into your fall housing assignment the week of August 3, 2026.

Can I stay in my current spring housing for the summer?

If you are currently in a building that is being used for summer housing, you may not have to move. You will have preferential placement to stay in your current unit as we would like to minimize transitions.

Is there a meal plan/service during the summer?

No, there is no meal plan or meal service provided during the summer. Each apartment has a kitchen.

What university resources are available during the summer?
