Whom to contact by specific need

Needs are listed in alphabetical order. A list of all Administrative Offices can also be found on the Willamette website.

• Absent from class for one week or more

  If a student is absent from class for a week or more, they should communicate with their faculty to develop a plan to catch up. If the absence is anticipated in advance, the student should communicate with their faculty member in advance whenever possible.

  Salem students can also contact the Office of Student Affairs at student-affairs-office@willamette.edu or 503-370-6447 for additional support on the Salem campus.

  PNCA students can contact the Office of Student Affairs at pnca-student-life@willamette.edu or 503-821-8902.

  In the law school, the attendance policy states that students are required to attend at least 75% of all scheduled class meetings. If a student is concerned about prolonged absence from classes, they should contact the Associate Dean for Student Affairs or the Law Office of Student Affairs (OSA) for support and resources. • Academic support and tutoring

  Salem Resources

  Academic Support aids the academic efforts, engagement, and achievements of College of Arts & Sciences students by providing services geared towards student success. Students can get time management and study tips, work with a tutor, and connect to other resources. The Academic Support team can be reached at 503-370-6505 or academicsupport@willamette.edu.

  Academic Support also partners with the Writing Center, Digital Learning Studio, and QUAD Center.

  The College Advisor provides regular meetings with and monitoring of students who are on academic probation. The College Advisor can be reached at 503-370-6737 or advising-info@willamette.edu.

• Accommodations for learning, physical, medical, and mental disabilities

  Accessible Education Services (AES) facilitates the accommodation request process and provides holistic support for students that experience disability or identify as disabled.

• Bias report

  Community members should report any act of discrimination act of bigotry, harassment or intimidation based on actual or perceived race, religion, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, status as a protected veteran, pregnancy, marital status, or any other category protected by law. There are a variety of possible next steps and outcomes from any Bias Report. Community members can learn more by contacting the Office of Student Affairs at 503-370-6447 or student-affairs-office@willamette.edu.

• Bills and student accounts

  The Student Accounts Office is responsible for the billing and collection of tuition and fees for the university. The Student Accounts Office can be reached at 503-375-5308 or student-accounts@willamette.edu.

• Campus concern

  In the event of an emergency, contact Campus Safety at 503-370-6911 in Salem and 503-621-2061 in Portland

  Community members may report any incident or concern via the Incident / Community Concern Report. Staff review and follow up on reports based on the reported behavior and appropriate action steps.

• Career opportunities or career counseling

  On the Salem campus, Career Development assists students in defining their professional goals, obtain career-related experiences, enhance their strategies for networking and the job/internship search, graduate school preparation, and other meaningful post-graduate opportunities.   On the PNCA campus, students can utilize the Office of Career Design.

  All MBA programs have dedicated Career Development staff to help secure summer internships and successfully navigate their professional careers. MBA students are strongly encouraged to start working with Career Development as soon as they start their program. Staff can be reached at mbacareer@willamette.edu.

  In the law school, the Office of Career Planning & Development (OCPD) works with students to create individualized development plans and tools for success in today's legal job market. Students are encouraged to work closely with OCPD from their first year through graduation to participate in mentoring opportunities, networking events, resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, and more. • Clubs and activities

  The Atkinson Student Association (ASA) supports all clubs and organizations for MBA programs. Current ASA leadership can be reached at atkinson-student-association@willamette.edu.

  Law students interested in becoming involved in student clubs and organizations can contact the Law Office of Student Affairs (OSA) for information about opportunities. • Community service

  The Office of Civic Engagement encourages a sense of civic responsibility by cultivating mutually beneficial relationships within the greater Salem community. Additionally, the Student Organizations directory page lists many of the student clubs and organizations that engage in community service. • Conflict resolution

  Conflicts occur for many different reasons. It is often helpful to have a collaborative and supportive partner when resolving conflict. If a student wants assistance with a conflict, they can contact the Office of Student Affairs at 503-370-6447 or student-affairs-office@willamette.edu.

  Students on the PNCA campus can also contact PNCA Student Affairs Office at  503-821-8925 or pnca-student-life@willamette.edu.

  Students living on campus in Salem or Portland who are experiencing conflict in their residential community can contact their Resident Advisor or Residence Life Coordinator. • Cultural or identity support

  Many campus offices offer individual support, groups, and activities aimed at supporting students their identity exploration and development; these resources are available to students in any college on any campus.

• Employment and internships

  Willamette offers student employment opportunities. The Career Development team helps students enhance their strategies for networking and the job/internship search, including internships for academic credit. • Facilities concerns

  The Facilities Department is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance and upkeep of approximately 1.4 million square feet of academic, residential, administrative and off campus properties situated on approximately 60 acres with all the associated utilities and infrastructure. If a student identifies a facility concern, they should contact the Facilities Department.

  • Students living on the Salem campus can complete a Housing Maintenance Report if something in their room needs repair.
  • Students living in ArtHouse in Portland can complete a maintenance request by emailing maintenance@livearthouse.com; they should include their room number, a description of the maintenance need, and a statement that the maintenance staff may enter their room to complete the required work.
  • If outside of business hours or if there is an emergency, contact Campus Safety in Salem at 503-370-6911, or in Portland at 503-621-2061.
• Financial aid

  The Financial Aid Office can be reached at 503-370-6273 or finaid@willamette.edu. Many frequently used forms are available on their website.

• Food resources

  Students can contact the Office of Student Affairs to identify resources and options. Students facing unexpected financial emergencies can apply for support from the Emergency Fund. There are additional financial well-being resources available. The Marion Polk Food Share offers a food finding tool on its website that identifies food pantries and kitchens around Oregon.

  At PNCA, students may access food resources in the community pantry, located in Student Commons on the 1st floor in Room 136.

• Gender Resource and Advocacy Center (GRAC)

  The Gender Resource and Advocacy Center (GRAC) provides resources, support, and a safe and affirming space to students of any gender and sexual identity in the Willamette community, including all colleges and campuses. The GRAC offers individual and confidential advocacy to those impacted by sexual violence, stalking, relationship violence, and sexual harassment.   On the PNCA campus, students can contact the GRAC staff and the PNCA Health Coach. Students should complete an Intake Form ahead of scheduling a meeting with the Health Coach. The Health Coach can be reached at 503-821-8921.

• Housing

• Immigration information

• Leave of absence

  Students needing to take a leave of absence should contact the Registrar’s Office at 503-370-6206 or registrar@willamette.edu.

  MBA students interested in a leave of absence should refer to the latest version of the MBA Handbook and contact the Senior Associate Dean of Atkinson.

• Mental and emotional health support

  There are many opportunities for students to receive support and care, including confidential and non-confidential resources.

  Confidential resources include:

  • Counseling Services can be reached at 503-370-6471.
  • WUTalk, a 24/7 telephone crisis counseling support can be reached at 503-375-5353.
  • Uwill, an independent student mental health and wellness solution offering access to telehealth counseling, can be reached by following the directions in their frequently asked questions.
  • The Confidential Advocate serves as a confidential resource for students that might have experienced unwanted situations or behavior from another person (i.e. harassment, stalking, interpersonal violence, rape, sexual assault, etc.). • Suicidality

  If you or a friend are concerned, please seek help and/or reach out to a University representative.

• Textbook resources

  The Textbook Assistance Program assists students who are unable to purchase required textbooks due to financial hardship. Because the Textbook Assistance Program has limited funding, the maximum amount will be limited to $500 per recipient, over the course of their time at Willamette.

  The Willamette University Public Interest Law Project (WUPILP) is a student organization that offers a used law school textbook sale every year.
